God does care about all the details of our lives. He loves us more than we can imagine. He wants us to claim His promises, His peace, His presence and His power.
Let’s imagine we are sitting beside a nice campfire, at Base Camp. Grab your coffee or tea and sit down. Let’s imagine that our Guide, Jesus, stands up to give us a little talk as we start preparing for the next days’ climb.
“As the Son of God and your Guide I want each of you to know that I am very pleased that you are here at Base Camp. I am delighted with your commitment to get healthy. Introductions are not necessary. I know everything about you, your struggles, stresses and successes. I know the details of your thoughts and dreams and your heartaches. You are all deeply loved. I love you with a love that is not dependent on your behavior. It is a love that will never end. I love you more than you can imagine.
“Some of you have climbed this mountain before, but the climb got too hard and too steep. You tried to do it alone and you had a bad fall. You gave up on the journey to health and well-being. You are so tired of trying and falling that you don’t want to try again. But, you can do it, with Me as your guide. Claim my promises in the Bible. My promises will never be broken. I say to you in Isaiah 41:10 ‘So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you’. This time you are not alone, I am holding your right hand. You have safety ropes attached to Me – your guide. I can guarantee that you will never be alone. In Hebrews 13:5b I say to you, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” When you pray, remind Me of these promises, and claim them for yourself.
“Some of you have climbed before and then storms came. Life got hard and you experienced an illness, or emotional upsets, or some major stresses. Because of these storms you abandoned the climb. This time you will have strategies to help you deal with the storms of life. You have the little steps to health and well-being, with its’ graduated climbing levels. These little changes will make a difference.
“I am Jesus, your Guide. I offer you my peace, my presence and my power.
“As the Son of God I am peace. Just speaking My name, Jesus, can bring peace to your anxious thoughts. Claim this verse when you need peace. John 14:27 says ‘Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid’. Search the Bible to find other verses that encourage you to claim My peace.
“My presence is always with you. When you became my child, by accepting my gift of salvation, your body became the home of my Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says, ‘Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?’ My presence is always with you. Learn to listen. Listen for My still small voice and you will hear it. Read my word the Bible and I will speak to your heart through it.
“As the Son of God I offer you My power. Power to fight temptations and struggles. I know when you are weak and tired and I can help you. Call out to Me. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, ‘No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it’. In 2 Corinthians 12: 9,10 I say, ’My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in your weakness’. Claim My power!
“As your Guide, I want you to know that together we can climb this mountain of health and well-being. I will be holding you with my right hand and your safety ropes will be attached to Me. Rest in my promises, peace, presence and power. Trust Me because I love you. Get a good night’s sleep and wake up tomorrow ready to climb!”
