How about an iron rich snack that’s delicious? Yup, it exists!
Pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate bark!
I made it today and took some pictures so you can make it too!
Dark chocolate – at least 70% cocoa is the healthier choice and contains lots of iron. I bought this nice big bar at Walmart and it was about 5 dollars.
Take a look at the iron content! Dark chocolate has an amazing amount of iron! I think that’s a little too good to be true!
I also found out that pumpkin seeds have a high iron level too!
So I took 1/3 a of a cup of pumpkin seeds and 8 blocks of the chocolate.
I chose an aluminum pan because it’s easier to get the finished product out. Then I oiled it and spread the pumpkin seeds over the bottom of the pan.
I melted the chocolate in the microwave. I put it on for 1 minute on the defrost level. I stirred it and then put it on again in 30 second intervals until melted.
Then gently pour the chocolate over the pumpkin seeds.
Then put the pan into the freezer for 4 minutes until set. Then break apart into pieces.
A delicious iron rich treat to enjoy! Enjoy a piece or two knowing it will help your energy level!
